Newfag here with a question: Would ongoing acidification lead to a mass die-off all over the ocean, or create "dead zones" such as the one the whales in NZ got lost in? Also, what marine life forms would be able to survive in a these changed oceans?

In short, it will depend on which plankton populations survive and adapt to changing conditions.
OA will effect different ecosystems in different ways. Coral reefs will most likely die out in our lifetime, but marine plants seem more resilient to lower pH.
