Let's have a thread in which we post examples, special cases, problems etc. students initially face when they are entering a new topic in science and mathematics. I'll start with babby's first formal proof, that the square root of 2 is irrational (pic related).

>babby's first pythagorean triple: (3,4,5)
>babby's first neutralisation with NaOH and HCl.

>babby's first differential equation: exponential growth
>babby's first algorithm runtime analysis

>sqrt2 = p/q, where p and q are rationals
Agree
>No common factors
Agree
>2 = p^2/q^2
Agree
>p^2 = 2q^2
Agree
>thus p^2 is even
Disagree. Counterexample: n*0,999... is odd.
Pitiful proof. Into the trash.
Do mathematicians actually accept shit proofs like this? Pitiful.

I really dont like the proof.
There is one which is alot better.
p^2=2q^2 is an obvious contradiction if you just consider the prime factors of both sides.
This also wors for any root and explains why the root any integer is either a natural number or irrational.

nice meme
never post on /sci/ again you brainlet fuck

You guys really get off on using the m-word.
Intelligent people have to wonder if the only thing you all have to boast and brag about is that you know the m-word. Impressive--actually--considering you're so ignorant you can't type in sentences...lazy and sloppy and posting in math and sci. How useless and pathetic! Maybe take a writing course and come back when you're at least as intelligent as some grade two kids so you'll have something to contribute. Maybe curb your filthy mouth too. Your mommy ever kiss your dirty mouth?
