The world and everything in it has been shaped for normal people. Average people. This is how it should be. There are more average people than there are extremes of either end. The world would not work if it was made for highly intelligent people only. Most people could not manage. The world would not work it it was made for intellectually challenged people. A lot of things could not get done in a world like that. Both extremes, be it Intellectually challenged or intellectually gifted people have a hard time interacting with a world that is not suited to them. Everything including social customs is designed for the average normal person. So yes, it very much is true that being on either extreme makes you unsuited to live in a world that is made for normals.
