I find them outdated and obsolete now that we have the internet.

More over, I argue they were never most useful, as it's always been better to have many good and focused books about one subject, than one shallow book about many different subjects.

Encyclopedias are meant to give brief summaries.
The entries are well written and generally still valuable.
