No long term studies I know of; obviously chronic, frequent inhalation of smoke is detrimental to cardiovascular health. On the anictodal side any ex-pot head can attest to the permanent impairment of short term memory, and active smokers experience significant mood swings and some general cognative imparement between highs, much as a smoker gets on aggravated and lethargic after going hours without nicotine, or an alcoholic experiencing the same after going hours unintoxicated.

It will probably be several years before studies have any sizeable long term data on marijuana abuse.

I smoked for years and I can't remember shit. I can't focus on things for more than 5 seconds at a time.

I have a PhD in nuclear engineering and I smoke about 5-7 joints a day. Before I was a stoner, I worked at a gas station and my life was terrible. Weed gave me the energy and focus that I needed to get my life together.

I have 15 PhDs and I drop acid and take molly simultaneously every day for 20 years now. Nothing wrong with me.
