He got a nobel prize and wrote books on theoretical physics. He got a PhD without even trying to.
Has anybody read the Landau Lifschitz books and can give some opinion ?
L&L is a fantastic series, you should definetely give it a shot. I like it a lot because it is coincise and rigorous.

will i get pumped up in physics if i work them throught ?

>rigorous
No it's not. If you want a semblance of rigour go for other textbooks. Say Arnold for mechanics or any modern introductory book for QM. Get your facts straight moran.

i think youre trolling. most of my professors said that landau lifschitz is not to learn it but if you already understood it. this shows me that it is very rigurous also i have one here and it seems very rigurous. and im only 12 pages in.
I'm reading the mechanics book and sometimes I read parts of Goldstein. The only problem with L&L mechanics really is that its very dense and there are not enough exercises or examples.

i think the strength lies in the fact that it is so dense. i read classical field thery and to understand how they come to the conclusions i need to do write it down for myself in order to understand it properly. everything they conclude follows from what they said before. its elegant.
In Vassily Grossman's Life & Fate one of the main characters Victorov is based on Landau.

Do you know what rigor even is?
They're great books, but they're far from rigorous.
Look at Arnold, Marsden, or Morin and come back and look at Landau

so please explain how are these books different ? i cant imagine it r8now

and if i classical field theory completely and do the exercises will i be good enough for bachelor tier electrodynamics ?
