How much brain damage does exposure to pesticides cause?

Depends on the pesticide and the dose.
This thread is worse than any conceivable pesticide.
Here is a comparison of drawings by children in an area exposed to sprayed pesticides. Children in the valleys, where the pesticides settled, suffered brain damage exemplified by the difference in drawing ability.

what kind of pesticides did they use? organophosphates?

That's really sad, especially because I have two young children.

Your question is both irredeemably stupid and uselessly broad.
>what kind of risks does life on earth entail
Has anyone here ever grown food before? Pests take control. Insects, gophers, bacteria / fungus - all this shit mother nature comes up with to shit on your harvest.
Even "organic" foods use pesticides to maintain a modicum of profitability. Farming without pesticides can yield a 0% return which makes no sense.

I grow food. I'm a subsistence farmer. My farm isn't "organic" certified because I'm not paying to have it certified and I don't sell to people trying to get top dollar. The only chemicals I put on my crops are what are contained in normal compost and well water. I use companion planting, raised beds, crop rotation, animal-crop rotation, high crop diversity, & several other things to reduce work, reduce pests, and increase crop yields per square area. I grow several tons of produce a year on an rather small area without the need for pesticides or mechanical devices of any kind. I don't even till anymore due to crop rotation and animal-crop rotation. With the extra crops I grow, I can trade with family, friends, and neighbors for crops and foods I don't grow.
It is really amazing what you can do when you learn new techniques and realize that most farm equipment and products only exist for commercialism.
