Are the flat earth apologists really just contrarian, angsty troll (inspired by society's rejection of christianity) trying to go against the scientific norm?
No-one actually believes that the Earth is flat, do they? It wouldn't make sense. A flat disc floating in outer space just looks weird and out of place
Flat Earth is a hoax started by a college student to see how many people would believe in it.
Unfortunately the Conspiratard community like to attach themselves to controversial hypothesis and theories (due to autism) so they caught on
well, it does kind of make sense if you think about it on a "science-denier"-scale.
the first level is denying evolution. evolution is kind of abstract and hard to imagine, and it is true that macro evolution was never really documented anywhere. so kind of understandable to be skeptical, but those guys are still kind of nuts usually.
next level is denying the earth is 4,5 billion years old, instead believing it was created 6000 years ago. there is very hard evidence that shows the true age of earth so people who believe that are really nuts.
third and final level is people who dont believe the earth is round. there are literally people who went to space and can confirm roundness. so people believing this are the nuttiest of it all.

Where does denying anthropogenic climate change fall on that scale?
>>8557484
Between evolution denial and young Earth creationism.
It's hard for a single person to wrap their head around because of the scale, but the science is undeniable (or at least, it should be) and its existence can be proven inductively just by knowing the emission spectra of CO2, the Sun and the Earth's surface, as well as the change in the ratio of CO2 in the atmosphere.

I'd say it comes even before evolution denial since it is so convenient for conservatives, not just religious ones, to adopt denial of AGW.

>macro evolution was never really documented anywhere.
Macro evolution is well documented and observed in whales and usually cited as the textbook example.

Most people just accept that the earth is not flat and never think otherwise cause it's pretty obvious but in some small circles trolls like to put up fake arguments for a flat earth. Probably just for the lols. Unfortunately idiots actually take it seriously and truly believe in a flat earth against all rationality. Once a human believes something good luck changing their mind

>inspired by society's rejection of christianity
Whoa! Back the bus up. Flat Earth is not a Christian point of view. It's the opinion of literal Bible interpreters through a lazy and careless acceptance of a poor translation of a few passages. It so happens most of these literal interpreter morons also believe Christ is their savior. Therefore, it isn't necessary for them to think. Christ does that for them.
We have this thread already.
