Besides the obvious GPA plummet, how bad is it to fail a class. I'm currently in danger of failing Differential Equations, and it would be the first class I fail in college. Does failing a class make me a brainlet? Should I not stress too much about it and just retake in in the event I fail?

what's so bad about differential equations? what is bringing your grade down?

nothing in particular, I just havent studied long enough, and it doesn't look like I'll have much time to study since I have a proofs exam tomorrow and I'm planning on staying up tonight. Its honestly not too difficult, just that I am not too motivated in learning.

Having the university jam their thick unlubed cock down your virgin asshole even further by forcing you to pay for the same class again

I mean, depends on the school. Failing just one class at a university like MIT, Purdue, or UC Berkeley, all famed for lack of grade inflation (or grade deflation) is not a huge deal at all. Might kill your chances of attending schools of that caliber for Grad School, but you still have a shot if you recover well. At other schools it can mean you probably are either lazy or do not have the necessary aptitude for the subject, so maybe should be concerning.

As long as you remain in good academic standing, which for most universities is a 2.00 or higher then you'll just have to retake the class. At my school you can retake a class you get below a C- up to 3 times, but you only get a single W for all your classes.
So yeah don't sweat it if you fail, unless your on academic probation.
