I have a question. Ive I'm outside looking in the exact same direction at the exact same time as the night before at the sky, am i looking at the same star as i was the night before?

Most likely yes.

for stars that is pretty much true, but keep in mind that some of the dots you're seeing are planets, which do move quite a bit in 24 hours time. Taking those in account (and also earth satellites obviously), the visible stars don't move much at all.

download google sky map and point it at the star to get its name and constellation

No, the star will have moved about one degree.

This guy gets it.
For more look up sidereal and synodic time. The difference is that the Earth moves nearly 1 degree per day around the sun.

What do you mean by "The exact same direction"? What coordinates are you using?
