One of my friends is a biologist, and the other is a civil engineer. I am looking for something around 100$.
Bumping this. Anyone know of a nice microscope, maybe a brand I can look for on Ebay?
Super Nintendo.

I got a nice microbiology kit used for culturing and staining slides for 60 bucks on amazon. If they have a microscope and enjoy microbiology that might be a good gift.
if they live in a rural area - a bigass fresnel lens to burn rocks and shit
some less useful but handy tools like IR thermometer, laser rangefinder, multimeter, soldering iron for the tinkering types.
usb oscilloscope, arduino kit are some things that dont take up much room

Give the civil engineer a slide rule
don't get the civil engineer the Illinois insistute of tech bridge building kid, it's just a bunch of glue and balsawood and doesn't come with weights

Bumping for interest.
Give the engineer a Dragon Dildo. Make sure to get the cum tube.
He will be marvelled at the intricate design and engineering.

if your budget is $100 you're gonna get nothing but amscope
i'm a biologist
what i would enjoy for christmas: some nice-ass forceps. i mean the good shit, ultra fine, high elastic, antimagnetic, $75 a pop
Most places supply people with the tools they need. Why the fuck would I want to buy my own micropipette or tips? Pyrex is also expensive. Geldocs are expensive. Microcentrifuges are big an expensive. All the fun chemicals require special licenses or university employment. Everything fun in the Biochemical sciences is expensive.
Get the biologist some medical tools and the engineer some measuring devices.
