Does anyone know how to find the youngest to oldest formations? Computer Science major and I no absolutely nothing about Geology.
the younger ones are on the top

F is the youngest, G is probably the oldest as A looks like an intrusion into older layers
the older one are on the bottom
Awesome thank you!

just remember that a feature must already exist in order for something else to cut through it or be deposited above it. For example, A is intruded into D (and others) and thus must be younger, but A was partially eroded before N was deposited.

Another thing to keep in mind is that the fault line H is probably older than M because a fault would have affected M too if it existed at time of creation. The order from newest to oldest is probably F, B, K, N, A, J, D, M, H, C, L, G, E.

G isn't the oldest, it is next to oldest. E is the oldest. Match up the strata across the fault line.
I took a Geology class in Univerisity let me help.
Something about trilobites and other Paleozoic creatures that sound like Pokemon names.
