What are the best resources to learn calculus, statistics & linear algebra & basic proofs? Assuming no background in those areas?
>>

Kahn Academy
>>

Bumping since I want to know too. I want to learn maths although I'm working in a good job that doesn't require it. I just want to learn.

Thanks. I tried to learn statistics before learning calculus and hit a roadblock whenever statistics got into calculus problems.

To structure my learning can I learn Linear Algebra and Calculus together, or should I learn Calculus and then Linear Algebra & Statistics?

Due to your suggestion I just started the Calculus sequence on Kahn Academy. Been wanting to learn this so badly I'm going to marathon study today now that I have an actual resource. Thank you so much!

This

I'm going through the Algebra 1 module at the moment. I can feel my brain growing stronger every day, feels fucking fantastic.

I wish this shit was around when I was in primary school

Are there non-trivial youtube channels like Khan Academy (10 min videos), but with functional analysis, advanced modern algebra, etc?
>>
>>8470052
I'm sure if you do some digging you can find something that goes deeper into the functional analysis but you probably wont find anything better than some Indian dude filming his work with a potato camera

How much time do you have?
To get a quick overview just watch MIT videos.
If you need practical understanding, then you need to hit the books and do the exercises.

I would recommend Professor Leonard on youtube. The videos are long, but he's a fantastic teacher. It's just a professor with a camera set up in his classroom. Of the top of my head, I think he has calc 1-3, statistics, and algebra 2.

I have quite a bit of time to dedicate to it. I am going to go with the Khan Academy suggestion to start with, then dive into the books. Which beginner books do you recommend to follow up with?

I keep hearing good things about Strang for LA. For Calculus I think I'll learn what I need to know for most of these subjects at a beginner level but wouldn't mind additional reinforcement.

If you want to dive deeper into the mechanics that makes up algebra, then I suggest you supplement Khan Academy with a book discussing mathematical fundamentals.

An anon recommended this to me a while back, and it has helped me out a lot.

Thanks anon, very thorough and well written guide (OP here)

This was excellent advice, I made it to e-d proofs and paused the rest of the sections to get additional practice with these from other sources. I love Khan academy. Can't wait to get to the other proofs in this calc sequence.
