I never understood why anyone would need a CAS calculator.

Matlab is great.

But I move from the lab to the classroom alot. And I really don't wanna carry my laptop around everywhere, when all I need is a calculator.

Probably the Casio FX-991EX. Supports 4x4 matrices and complex numbers.

If you're into Pooter Science you can easily modify the OSs on the Nspires
Get the CX CAS if you want the best hardware or the CX if you need to use it on exams
Then poke around on ticalcDOTorg hackspireDOTorg and ti-planetDOTorg for modifications
Some modifications are ready to go and require no CS knowledge
