Some people work then come back around that age. It isn't unheard of

In my experience, about 30% are people who have only ever been a student, and finish around age 25. The other 30% are people who work, or fucked up at some point in their academic history and finish around age 30.
The remaining 40% are a split of the above, but don't really know why they're in academia, and take longer to finish than they should.
