"Instead of being behaviourally close to chimpansees, humans are instead behaviourally close to bonobos."
How does this affect human society, and most importantly human conflict resolution?
>>

It means that our societies, and most importantly, our means of resolving conflict more closely resemble those of bonobos than those of chimpanzees.
>>
Primatologist Frans de Waal states bonobos are capable of altruism, compassion, empathy, kindness, patience, and sensitivity,[3] and described "bonobo society" as a "gynecocracy".

>Feminism
Most studies indicate that females have a higher social status in bonobo society.[4] Aggressive encounters between males and females are rare, and males are tolerant of infants and juveniles. A male derives his status from the status of his mother.[39] The mother–son bond often stays strong and continues throughout life. While social hierarchies do exist, rank plays a less prominent role than in other primate societies.

>Bonobos are bisexual
Bonobo males occasionally engage in various forms of male–male genital behavior,[44][50] which is the non-human analogue of frotting, engaged in by human males. In one form, two bonobo males hang from a tree limb face-to-face while penis fencing. This also may occur when two males rub their penises together while in face-to-face position. Another form of genital interaction (rump rubbing) occurs to express reconciliation between two males after a conflict, when they stand back-to-back and rub their scrotal sacs together. Takayoshi Kano observed similar practices among bonobos in the natural habitat.

More often than the males, female bonobos engage in mutual genital behavior, possibly to bond socially with each other, thus forming a female nucleus of bonobo society. The bonding among females enables them to dominate most of the males.

>Bonobos are hippies
In fact, the Japanese scientists who have spent the most time working with wild bonobos describe the species as extraordinarily peaceful, and de Waal has documented how bonobos may often resolve conflicts with sexual contact (hence the "make love, not war" characterization for the species).

>bonobos on immigration
Between groups, social mingling may occur, in which members of different communities have sex and groom each other, behavior which is unheard of among common chimpanzees.

thanks OP for posting the thread, I legitimately didn't know bonobos were that different from the other chimps

Bonobos resolve in-group fighting with sex. If humans behaved this way, STD infections would be through the roof.

Because they're always having sex, patrilineal identity doesn't really exist within bonobos. If humans behaved this way, nobody would know who their father is.

I honestly think both bonobos and chimpanzees are horrible analogues for our ancestors in a behavioral sense, because both represent one of two extremes. One developed in an environment with lots of conflict, while the other developed in an environment where there was little to no conflict. I believe that the bonobo/chimp LCA is the best analogue we have for our own ancestors. A creature that doesn't act upon testosterone and sadistic urges, but doesn't fuck every member of its troop either.

Would sex replace warfare as well? How would a major conflict between nationstates be solved?
Would only the leaders have sex, or would the whole population be mobilized to have sex??

I imagine there's a chance that aliens would behave like bonobos instead of humans and chimps.

Human origins was actually somewhere in between chimpanzees and bonobos. In fact we share a lot of traits with both species, it is just that chimpanzees and bonobos are more towards extremes in some traits.

Chimps are only similar to human men, human women are alien to primate females beside they hypergamy because primate females are actually competent and only weaker than the males. Chimp females actually invent stuff rather than nag their men to death.

>human women are alien to primate females beside they hypergamy
That's pretty much every female primate, as Briffault's Law establishes. It is really just females going for the better deal based on power, status, or insurance; may even be linked to the maternal instinct.

Even in the most patriarchal species like gorillas, females will leave the silverback if defeated.
Humans are more complicated due to being a very sexual animal with much smarter brains... With money.
>>
>>8449931
Never did I say primate females are loyal, monogamy has no place in the wild where there is no society so you can fuck all the girls you want and never raise your kids and she can hop on dick all she wants.

Why bother when the males are so gynocentric that they jump over hoops for those with vaginas?
It's why feminism exist and has become so incredibly powerful in western nations.
>>

The chimp females could do jackshit but still do things, human women are just parasitic in general.

Feminism is women revolting against doing nothing.
