This.
Scifags think they can do humanities in their spare time, with their eyes closed, one arm tied behind their backs and while juggling test tubes at the same time.
But the fact of the matter is, both areas are so involved that no one person can truly master both in a single lifetime. Consequently, only a small handful of people have ever been able to become both philosophers and scientists of note.
There are too many people studying the humanities and not enough people studying areas related to science and technology. This was the whole point of the STEM initiative in the first place

But we can. Or at least I can.
If their barometer for STEM guys is some random engineering or CS student at shitty state U, this all becomes more understandable.
coming up with creative solutions to practical problems is essential to stemfags
I like drawing and painting in my free time, it helps me relax.
No need to have a go at another subject just because its not something you fancy.

Academic painting and sculpture is a thing you know.
I personally really like art and music and I think creative ability makes you much better at objective subjects like math and engineering, but that doesn't mean art is similar at all to the STEM subjects or merit grouping it among them.
I am a polymath, a polyglot and a polygon.
