Is play something unique to mammals?
>>8420300
Unique to Humans. The rest is anthropomorphism.
>>8420300
It seems like mammals are the only animals born without all of their necessary survival skills hardwired in instinct, creating the need to play to develop coordination and stuff. And the evolutionarily least efficient animals are the only ones that evolved intelligent life
>>8420306
You don't think what baby non-human mammals do could be called playing? Because it looks like they all play a lot, while a baby reptile or something never does that
>>8420311
Is instinct genetic?
>>8420306
>i'm so spechul !!!1!!
no you're not you fucking hairless ape
>>8420322
Humans are not above others species. But, we have features that other species don't.
>>8420328
literally the only feature not shared is spooks
>>8420306
>t. someone who has never seen a cat or dog
>>8420306
False
>>8420320
I don't think we have a definitive answer to this (biologically of course). I'm not sure if it's debated or not
>>8420300
I breed chickens and it looks like the little ones play
>>8420300
I've seen parrots do things that probably count as play. Spontaneous, voluntary, doesn't seem to serve any other purpose. Although pretty much everything a parrot does seems to fit that definition.
Birds play
Squid/Octopus play
Really anything that's intelligent enough to get bored plays
>>8420347
truth right here
moral feelings for any human outside your genetic similars (tribes or clans or whatever) is a disadvantage
>>8420306
you clearly know nothing about biology.
>>8420311
im not sure thats an accurate statement
Octopus have been observed playing with toys.
>>8424382
Empirically demonstrate that you have a mind.
Fucking P-zombie.
>>8420320
yes and they can be learned and passed down in one or two generations
Smart birds, such as magpies and crows, have been observed playing.

>>8420306
Ayyy lmao, you really aren't a smart one.
>>8424429
>one or two generations
That's a hell of an extinction event. You will need a LOT of genetically different individuals to breed an instinctive response in only two generations.
