How much Trig is in Calc I? Do I need a Trig class beforehand? How much Calc is in Physics I? Will I need a Calc class beforehand? Sorry if this is a dumb question, my schools advisors have not helpful.

If you know what a sine and a cosine is, you should be pretty much set. Why do Americans need an entire university class on trigonometry anyway? Shouldn't you be doing that in school?

Not a whole bunch. So long as you have taken a pre-calc course you should be fine. Calc 2 on the other hand has a lot of trig, generally speaking.
If you're completely oblivious to calculus and your alegebra is so-so you it might serve you better to take calc 1 first, albeit the calc isnt that rigorous. But if your algebra is on point you could get by taking the two together.

I have never heard of a school offering Trig as a seperate course in my school district in the US but i have heard about it before. I think it was originally a secondary track for those not able to do pre-calc and calc. Algebra 2 covers trig very briefly and in pre-calc you really get the full trig treatment. So, for those not taking pre-calc learning trig is really helpful for real world application.

Make sure you know your trig identities and memorize the sin/cos/tan of 30/45/60. Anything beyond that isn't really needed. (Although knowing what the graphs look like will help with limits)
As for physics, the most I've used is derivation and integration. Both of which you learn in calc 1. I had a differential equation come up once but it was a basic question and easy to solve. This applies to college-level physics. In most highschools, it is algebra based.

FTR there is no separate trig classes anymore. There are two tracks. The original algebra 1, geometry, algebra 2, pre-calc, calc, stats for advanced students and for remedial we have math 1-5 which mixes algebra, geometry, trig in every course.

My high school was horrible, I don't think they even offered it. I wish I could jump right into Calculus but I was not very confident in my math. I taking basic college algebra this semester to make sure I'm not a fucking idiot and I'm doing well. Trig is my only unknown factor right now.

in calc 1? not much. in calc 2? plenty.

>triglet wants to take calc
pre-calc is literally trigonometry be sure to take it beforehand.

>How much Trig is in Calc I? Do I need a Trig class beforehand?
there's a bit, but not much to worry about
calc 2 on the otherhand will require a strong understanding of trig and trig identities. You might be able to get by without it, but a trig course would definitely be worthwhile
>How much Calc is in Physics I?
you just need to know the terminology, but you will need to be able to understand trig more for a physics class than a calc class
>Will I need a Calc class beforehand?
nope, but taking a calc class alongside a physics class would be ideal, they tend to work into eachother

>How much Trig is in Calc I?
A lot
>Do I need a Trig class beforehand?
Only if you're a brainlet
>How much Calc is in Physics I?
A lot
>Will I need a Calc class beforehand?
Only if you're a brainlet
Have always an identity table at hand and you will naturally remember them.
