meme
industry hires either mechanical or EE, and ME and EE grads are both going to be better at their respective jobs than you
mechatronics is fabolous but is in the begining is in the first steps we really take care about it
Sounds like a meme

>Mechatronics Engineering?
After the years I'm still glad I chose it. First idea to finished prototype, all on my own if need be, I always wanted it that way. It gives you a grounded sovereignty among the one-trick ponies. You are the integrator of success.
"Specialization is for insects." (said who?)

What we need are top tier specialists who can work together of specialists from other fields. Not jack of all trades.
Having good knowledge of the other fields is always a plus though.

>Mechatronics
SAO fag

They say academics is full of occultism.
How do we access the book of life to get technological information?
Mechatronics engineer here.
Ask me anything.
Pic related, that's me doing some mechatronics shit.

>What we need are top tier specialists who can work together of specialists from other fields.
And who's going to lead them?
A jack of all trades could put everyone on the same page.

The word meme gets thrown around a lot, but no word better describes the discipline of mechantronics than meme. Industries that have mechatronic systems are divided into departments each with their own specialists. No job will ask you to design a circuit in the morning then do some CFD in the afternoon.
You don't want to end up like this guy >>8416883 doing high school electronics and thinking he's top shit.
Undergrad in Mechatronics
>worthless
Masters in Mechatronics
>Worthless
PhD in Mechatronics
>Worthless and unemployable
People in Mechatronics don't go to school looking to be in that field, which isn't well defined in terms of educational requirements.
What usually happens is a ME/EE/CE end up working in an engineering job other than what they went to school for; through a few intensive years of experience they move to a company looking for a multiple skill-set engineer for Mechatronics.

one of the team members
the jack of all trades is a useless addition. the experts will laugh him out behind his back and go over his head.

hope that's bait

>babby shit with an arduino
I really hope you don't think that's real engineering.

We've already been through this
>jack of all trades but master of none
Mechatronics companies will just end up hiring specialized people in each separate fields and make them work together, it's better to use 4 people each master in their domain that 4 clowns unable to go in-depht in each field.
Biggest meme degree in engineering. It appears to be a jack of all trades including electrical, mechanical, and computer engineering components.
If I wanted a mechanical system, a digital system, or an electrical system, I would pick someone who specializes in the relevant catagory to implement it.
It's just like medicine or a trade. If you want to get real results, you need a specialist.
I-I want to do a Bachelor in Mechatronics and then get a Master in EE
I-Is that f-fine?
>>8416302
99% sure it's a meme of some sort
Contrary to popular belief, it is not a meme. You just have to market yourself and the degree in an intelligent fashion; it also helps to design a curriculum set for yourself that will boost your overall standing for employers.
Take your required Mechatronics coursework, but also specialize in either EE or ME. Don't become a jack of all trades. Become someone who is knowledgeable in Mechatronic systems but, if need be, can calculate the couette flow.
In other words, if you major in it, be smart about it. Don't be a retard and just graduate with "duhh mechatronix dagree."
t. Mechatronics engineer with a Mechatronics BS who is literally working at Lockheed Martin as a Controls Engineer.

You've got it backwards, homie
>>8418028
This.
Get a BSEE and pair it with an MS in Mechatronics. It'll look impressive. A former classmate of mine did something similar. He earned a BSME, then a year later, grabbed an MS in Mechatronics. Dude works at iRobot now, making dosh.
It isn't a "meme" career field; it's just new and still trying to find its pathway. As we progress further into engineering, we're finding that integration works best more and more.
>>8416302
It's a good intro for biomedical engineering. Almost anything you learn in mechatronics has an application in bme
>>8416302
I've worked with several mechatronics engineers and I can tell you one thing. They are good at programming and that's about it. They can't handle electrical work as well as an electronics/electrical engineer and can't do mechanical engineering related work to save their lives.
Just go for ME/EE/Robotics/Automation/CE
