Help me find this molecule anon
trying to figure out why one of my classmate wrote it in my schoolbook
>>8413367
it's weed
(3S,4S,6R,7S)-6,7-diamino-3-(2,2-dichloroacetyl)-4- (3-ethynylphenyl)-8,8,8-trifluoro-2-iminooctanoic acid
Doesn't seem to be a known structure.
>>8414317
Then why does it have a name?
Checkmate, scientists.
>>8414497
That's just standard IUPAC nomenclature, the actual molecule has many stereo isomers, thanks to the stereogenic centers. Anon merely meant op's pic related does not have a commonly known function or street name.
> Your move, layman.

>what is steric factor
it doesn't exist
>>8413367
there is no molecule like this or some related structure
>>8413367
I've never done much chemisteriey, but I think I found some clues. I'd call it. Chicken molecule.
>>8413367
I'm no chemist but this doesn't seem possible to me.
>>8415814
Why not? Each carbon has 4 bonds.
>>8415814
>I'm no chemist
it shows
>>8413367
>trifluoromethylated vicinal diamine
>one ketone selectively converted to an imine and remains that way despite turbo-enoliseable alpha proton
>highly activated ketone 4 carbons away from a free amine
>>8415859
What, you mean like in a nitrogen molecule?
>>8415862
I don't know. Like I said, I'm no chemist.
But it seems a triple bond between Nitrogens is more stable than a triple bond between Carbons.

carbon and hydro atoms in skeletal structures are often omitted. Case in point, look at the rest of the fucking lines on the thing.

>Triple bonds (alkynes) are at a 180 degree angle
That is the equilibrium geometry, yes. They do have a bending degree of freedom though
It's not that uncommon to draw them at a slight angle for structural clarity, or when you run out of space. He's clearly not suggesting it's some magic pentavalent carbon, so there's no ambiguity even if it is technically poor form
desu I think your friend royally fucked up drawing a polypeptide
>>8417500
lmao i think you're right

Definitely a kitchen though. That egg is in a frying pan
