Has anyone here made a algorithmic trading software? It seems like Python & MATLAB are the best languages to use over C++.
Are there any good textbooks on this subject?

I don't even care about the thread the girl just got my attention. Anyways I would use C++ and SQL but I'm only 19 and haven't tried to do anything like that but plan on building something soon.

What do you recomend?

>I learnt C++ and I want to make everybody learn it cause Python is so easy and it's not fair and bla bla.
I know C++, Java, ObjectiveC, PHP, Javascript and Python. Python is the best programming language for almost everything.

Assembly, C, and Racket.
Assembly for the lowest of low levels. C for low-level dirty work (but not TOO low level). But sometimes you need (or would solve something much easier with) a programmable programming language, in this case you can use Racket.
Obviously if you're trying to work in a specific programming world you should use whatever fits the community of that world unless you're a glutton for punishment. If you work at Oracle, you're using Java. If you want to be a gayman then you're using C++. Trying to go against the grain is possible but it is a frustrating experience for dubious net gains.
