Damn ΔP, you scary.

Does this kill the crab?
>>8344086
imagine you squeezed you hand in a gap that small. Would your hand be broken?
>>8344087
The real question is why do the crabs keep crawling towards it?
>>8344086
No. If you look close, the transporter beams him up at the last second
>>8344051
damn it's like the end of that shitty alien sequel
>>8344051
Are you black?
>>8344119
If I was, would I be on /sci/?
>>8344107
The alien sequel was much worse, it stupidly suggested atmospheric pressure could force an alien monster through a 1/2 inch hole while this more accurately protrays the massive pressure that can be generated at depth under a column of sea water.
crab lives matter
Anyone have pictures of that poor deep-sea diver that got sucked trough a valve? I know i've seen the autopsy photo somewhere

>tfw trying to explain to normies that no, this can't happen, and that what matters is the pressure difference, not the pressure ratio, so it doesn't matter if your spatial vacuum is very, very good
ah yes, the final stage of the moult

Cpt. Scubabro here, if any anons have this plz post - is the talk of many a diveboat at sea

Divers beware.
can someone explain? never took physics
>>8344051
Something like this happened to humans.

Look at the pictures on Google.

NOPE

Delta=change;
P=pressure;
That spinning disk reduces pressure above slit. Crab must fill "void" created by reduction of pressure. Crab is forced into low pressure zone and forced through slit. Profit.

>Subsequent investigation by forensic pathologists determined Hellevik, being exposed to the highest pressure gradient and in the process of moving to secure the inner door, was forced through the 60 centimetres (24 in) in diameter opening created by the jammed interior trunk door by escaping air and violently dismembered, including bisection of the thoracoabdominal cavity which further resulted in expulsion of all internal organs of the chest and abdomen except the trachea and a section of small intestine and of the thoracic spine and projecting them some distance, one section later being found 10 metres (30 ft) vertically above the exterior pressure door.[5]
>>8344353
60 cm is a bigger hole than I imagined. Won't look at pics on Google tbqh
On /b/ you have such gory clips with humans, and it's mostly Chinese factory workers
>>8344546
Describe. Not going to watch them.
>>8344495
>bisection of the thoracoabdominal cavity
Seeing as this happened he was probably forced through sideways

Pussy.

There's plenty of video of divers being caught against grates/inlet pipes by much less "exciting" ΔP.
30 psi (~2 atm) of suction on a 4" sewer pipe is ~1500 lbs of force. Maybe not enough to turn you into LCL, but enough to break bones and leave you trapped, underwater, completely helpless.
Let's say there's a grate in front of the sewer pipe, and you only block off half the flow. That's still 750lbs of force; you'll probably survive if you can get help, but there's no way you're removing yourself from the grate solo.

here's the money shot from that video, with a more realistic calculation than mine.
