Every human being is responsible for their own life. Society has warped peoples minds and made them forget this. For instance you can sue a restaurant for making you fat because you didn't stop eating their food. Society has made people demented and now believe we're responsible for everyone else's lives except our own.

The trolly problem demonstrates how the way society can effect our decision making process. It makes people think they're responsible for what happens and must choose who to save, even tho it's not really their problem. In fact the best solution to the trolly problem is TO DO ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! People on the tracks who see the trolly coming their way know enough to get off. (in the real world they'd never be literally tied to it but would be pedestrians in front of a self driven car) Changing directions to "save someone" would only confuse someone and it may hit a confused person in the new path of the car as it changed direction.

It's like jumping in front of a bus to push a child out of it's path. (sacrificing yourself in the process) Only if you hadn't jumped out into the street the kid would have never been distracted, would have seen the bus, and gotten out of the buses path.
