Stop trying to make sense of zombies. They are an adaptation of ancient horror ideas, codified into the modern form by Romero. It's pure fantasy and completely futile to try to explain how they might function in real life (they wouldn't, for a multitude of reasons).

Zombie apocalypse? no chance, not even 0.01% The syndroms are so obvious that it would be dealt with before it reached 10 people and even if it somehow spontaniously happened to a few thousands, the army would be all over that shit in minutes.

zombies may be possible and probably, but no apocalypse. Especialy not since we have all these movies and series about it. everybody would freakout at first signs of anything similar.
