Probably a crystal. If you want to know what it is exactly, you cannot give us enough information. You'd need to find a geologist and let him inspect it.

Can you scratch the surface with your fingernails or a metal ?

Does that create a mild greasy-soapy feeling when you touch it ?

Where do you find it ?

Can you see little crystals inside ?

Scratching: fingernail or metal, no. metal seems to transfer onto it.

no greasy-soapy feeling but very smooth

i have no clue where it was found, was given to me by a friend.

i wet it, and held it up to light again, no crystals. completely and utterly flawless it seems. too cloudy to see when dry.

Its a piece of glass, either man-made or mineral in origin (crystal, agate), which has been polished in the ocean or a rock polisher machine.

The shape is not typical for naturally occuring stones, at least not in this size, so I would lean towards man-made material. But natural is not impossible: the slight internal miscoloring leans towards this actually.

Get some scales, weigh it as accurately as you can.

Get a container with known volume of water, then place it in and mark the level. Then remove and fill to the same level. Find the volume of this amount.

Calculate density then google it.

Do the weight method to see what it's made of.
It's round, the most probable cause of this was being transported along a river or waterstream.(Where did you find it?)
The color changing is probably caused by impurities. (Copper could cause blue for instance). Keep in mind it could just be a piece of glass that has been molded in this shape by water transport.

Looks kinda like one of those polished moonstone eggs to me. I've seen them around, but I'm not sure if it's actually moonstone.
