what are you working on, biofags of /sci/ ?
I had a dream last night where I was developing a compound that breaks down crude oil in sea water. I later woke up and realized I was still unemployed.

breaks down or flocculates ?
because they already have the latter
>i had a dream where i was contracted to build the perfect catapult chair
>work is hard senpai
>upon finally completing it i found out my employer was going to use it to catapult babies into a giant river
microbio undergrad here, I was thinking of maybe working with Pseudomonas aeruginosa. I want to create mutants that can help clean up oil spills more efficiently.
thoughts?

Just started working on a project to efficiently analyze and identify proteins/peptides using LC-MS and MALDI-TOF MS

considering they're only harmful to cystic fibrosis/immune compromised people I should be fine, unless I willingly burn my arm and shove it down down a culture

>accidental release into a freshwater reservoir
>gram-negative bacteria goes nuts on old people / the seriously ill
>population crisis averted
you're a hero anon

oops
I have been working on a very cutting edge experiment at the moment.
I have several buckets of shit sitting in my closet at this very moment. After a couple days, MOLD and FLIES have started to appear on them.
It is my cutting edge, genius theory that life simply springs forth spontaneously! Original experiment donut steel
Question:
Hardly on this board, but what are some industry standard computer programs that are used by biologists? I recently discovered Schrodinger's suites, but I don't know any others and have nil experience.

Check the suite of applications in the Biolinux repo.
NCBI also has a shit ton of bioinformatic information, data and applications.
Not sure how many are still standard but yea.
