Hi /sci/! I would like to ask for validation of this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Ge2h8Apgd8
>>
Oh jeez another pop sci fag
All you need to know is that magnets wear down over time
>>
>>8284534
I didn't understand, did you say that is true, or it isnt?

>Is this true?

Not at all.

Most of the videos that have "working" versions of these are hoaxes that use an airflow off camera to spin the "motor".

The main reason for these not working is due to the "cogging" effect between one magnet field and the next. This robs power from the spin even if you manually spin it to get it started. The more magnets you add the more "cogs" there are, the smoother it will be, but it reduces the pushing force and still robs it of power. One of these without "cogs" and a full field is just a magnetic bearing. All of these are just magnetic bearings of varying efficiency. You must input the energy into them for them to work.

>>8284534
Even that has nothing to do with this.

Here's an example of that very thing, fyi.

>magnets wear down over time
This isn't the reason why magnet motors can't be "overunity." A static magnetic field is a conservative field (when there is no current, no moving charge).

First, understand why a conservative field can't do work (google).
Second, understand what the statement above about magnetic fields means (google).

The second one is a little more tricky, but you don't need to understand it all the way down to the level of Maxwell's equations. Just grasp that a bunch of magnets sitting in any orientation, without electric current running through them is a conservative field. If you use electricity to vary the magnetic field over time, then yes, you can make something spin. This is called an electric motor and it is very well understood.

>>8284556
The point I was making was is that there is only a limited potential energy from a magnet
>>
>>8284564
That is irrelevant, since they don't actually spin anything in order to be a motor in the first place.
>>
How long till the magnets wear out? Could be usefull as a battery

What about the perendev magnet motor? That one moves
>>
>>8284534
The only thing worse than overunity fags is popsci faggots who think the objection is "magnets wear off over time".
>>
>>8284623
That is only a magnetic bearing. Nothing more.
>>
>>8284525
It's garbage.

What's wrong with Schrödinger's cat? It's just a model that shows how stupid superposition and physicists are.
