Since physics appears to have come to a dead end, do we need superintelligence to make more progress?
What are the most promising routes toward superintelligence?
-AGI
-Crispr
-Neuroengineering
I would guess that neuroengineering is the fastest route, since reverse engineering something that evolved over millions of years in a tiny fraction of the time is unlikely using either of the first two methods. We don't need to reinvent the wheel. All the work has already been done for us. Our brains are infinitely malleable and adaptable. The only thing standing in our way is our squeamishness. (Please don't call it "ethics".)

Just don't bother teaching some kids anything except physics. Eschew all other subjects and just teach a kid maths from kindergarden to highschool. Do this for enough kids and you will absolutely have a few math minds strong enough to progress physics.

something along this
we need to start getting more black people involved in science to bring us forward

no, we need some new viewpoints, and we need this string-theory/SUSY meme shit to get cleared out a bit. is it maybe right? who knows. now it's kinda a moot point. every-time LHC raises the limits on observation of either of those, the proponents just claim that the low energy models weren't feasible anyway.
plus, the number of small niggling unsolved problems out here is huge, and people aren't really working on them. EMC effect, for example. it was everybody's boner through the 80's and 90's but as soon as it proved to be intractable everybody went back to "muh HE physics." actually in the case of EMC, it's not really so small, as it implies that we seriously lack an intimate knowledge of the subtleties of nuclear structure, which could prove critical to the next steps of wherever physics is headed.
so bascially, we need to stop being memelords, take a step back, and clean house a bit. physics will move forward from there, as usual.
Why don't they just find a way to grow a massive human brain (think ten times bigger than the human brain) in a cat, teach it how to communicate, and have it work on math and physics problems via some interface with a computer?

why a cat? do you want to waste vast intellect on a creature that gives no fucks about what is relevant to a greater cause? do you want a creature interested only in number theory???

top notch.
