All right /sci/, it's 2016, we have huge rockets and advanced labs, we can simulate pressure, temperature, everything, so why couldn't we figure out abiogenesis yet? shouldn't it be simple since the fist lifeforms were simple? What are we missing?

Many very smart scientists, including Nobel prize winners are working on the problem. It'll happen eventually, just hasn't happened yet because chances are the exact circumstances that abiogenesis took place in are very specific and many of their components are unknown to us at this point (primitive molecular biology structures that do not exist anymore and only existed as a stepping stone from non-life to life) so we can't simulate it. Give it time and it will happen, it's not a simple problem by any stretch of the word, it's extremely difficult.
