I´ve got a Math Riddle to solve which left me clueless. I ask for your help to solve it, because I didn´t find anything on a similiar Riddle.
The Riddle goes as following:
After a Project, 4 individual corporations get a sum x, corp 1: a half of the sum minus 2000, corp 2: a third of the sum minus 5000, corp 3: a quarter of the sum plus 1000 and corp 4: 2000.
Its about Money / Euros and its defined that corp 4 only gets 2000 and the other get those Values.
The Question is: What is the overall sum?

How is your algebra homework a riddle?

Doesn't matter; it's not even solvable.

x is the total sum. a,b,c, and d are the respective corporations.
x=a+b+c+d
a=(x/2)-2000
b=(x/3)-5000
c=(x/4)+1000
d=2000
x=((x/2)-2000)+((x/3)-5000)+((x/4)+1000)+2000
Try it now.

I'm proud someone told this pleb about the substitution method in systems of equations. Thank you.
Impossible to solve x could be literally anything and having Corp 4 as a defined amount doesn't help since there is no relation to x
The best answer that can be given is in the form X +/- integer
>>8268736
x/2 - 2000 + x/3 - 5000 + x/4 + 1000 + 2000 = x
x/2 + x/3 + x/4 - 4000 = x
5x/6 + x/4 - 4000 = x
26x/24 - 4000 = x
26x/24 - 96000/24 = x
26x - 96000 = 24x
2x - 96000 = 0
2x = 96000
x = 48000
Literally high school algebra. What is going on here?

Wanted to make sure, as I had different answers based on different approaches. Me, a 4th grader cant solve high school math.

>I had different answers
You mean different numbers for solutions or different procedures.
Anyways, let me tell you that the guy who assigned a variable for each company is a fucking retard. Literally the most useless 'oh look at me I know linear algebra' way to solve this problem.
YOU HAVE ONE VARIABLE.
Also, this is not even a riddle.
>>8268939
Different numbers as Solutions and 2 different procedures. Yes, guy who made it is a retard.
Call it whatever you want, doesn´t matter, got my answer. So Case Closed.
Hell, even I am a retard.

You know you have to be 18 or older to be on this site?
>>8268955
I am over 18 and in 4th grade.
Well you see OP you have to go to the sticky and read up on the math section and get all the books in the textbook recommendations section. Lets hop to it and get that basic mathematics textbook open. We aint got time to play around with this 4th grade shit you gotta start proving stuff ASAP
