Its elementary particle for a reason

We thoughts atoms were elementary particles too. Until we got curious whats inside of them and read the bible to find out.

What is a chair? We thought atoms were elementary particles until we found out theyre not. Maybe a chair is a car?

I'm not very smart but, the string theory suggests it could be a small string vibrating at a particular frequency, giving the particle the physical properties depending on the frequency. Just a theory I've seen though.
If the quark had constituent particles, we would call them "preons". There are a few models being tested that assume these preons exist, usually based off of certain symmetries like chirality and handedness but so far evidence for these models have not been found.
It is very unlikely that quarks are composed of other, more fundamental particles.
Tiny strings.

Quarks are already more elementary than elementary particles.
Quarks cannot be localized in space. They are not particles.

Just the fact that you can admit you're not very smart just goes to show you are above 99% of this board. Never forget anon, a wise man once said "The more one learns, the more he understands how little he truly knows".

Thank you, kind anon, I will now proceed to sleep while blushing uncontrollably.
