what does /sci/ think of Alternate Universes?
Just brainfarts
>>8188982
most of them are exactly the same but with better versions of 4chan
The universe is a synonym for existence. There are no 'alternate' universes. There is just one.

my own personal theory is that there are 6 dimensions - 3 of space, 3 of time. The spacial ones are easy, just visualize a graph with xyz axes for height, width & depth.
Now visualize the same graph for time. We are trapped on the x axis, moving only forward at a constant rate. Forward and backward on the x axis are the past and future, with the entirety of the x axis being our universe.
Alternate universes would be the z axis, or sideways motion in time.
The y axis, well, I can't really imagine what that would be. But it's fun trying to.

So why not just reduce it to 3 Spatial and 2 Temporal?

I secretly hope there's a universe in which OP isn't a shitposting fag.
>>8189390
Because 3&3 is nice and neat, and it gives me something to ponder.

That's not how it works, there's too many variables in that situation.
The gun could misfire, or something else could kill you at the same time.
In order for that theory to work, you need to have a situation where there are only two possible universes resulting from said outcome, one where you live, and one where you die. Also, it needs to be a completely random 50/50 chance. That's why it would never work even if it was true, because there are a huge amount of universes resulting from even the simplest event.
Many worlds is probably bullshit anyway so...

In that way, yes its inposible, I dont thing, doung something would lead to a creation of two different universes, If there is really infinite number of universes, then its more likely that (if we have two outcomes) those two universes were existed from the start, but due to the infiniteness, If it could be happen, then it will happen, no matter how little the chanche for the event, it will, and it will be like that in infinite number of universes
Definitely true

>muh mandela theory

>Wake Universes
Imagine every wave/particle spills into another dimension.
When you move, you drag a shitload of particles existing in other universes.
And when these particles move, they constrain your freedom of movement.
>>8188982
M-theory posits that multiple universes are created out of nothing, Hawking explained, with many possible histories and many possible states of existence.
>>8188982
they're pretty neat. in one of them you are straight
>>8188982
They probably don't have rap music in alterante universes
which ain't good
