In some sense it's like taking two boxes, putting a red ball in one and a blue ball in the other, moving them apart, opening one to find a red ball and then knowing that the other one has the blue ball. You can't communicate with that.

The information communicated is random. The only "spooky action" is that the two sets of random data will be exactly complementary. I suppose you could use it to let two parties simultaneously learn the result of a random dice roll FTL.

Suppose you had 2 particles in unknown states, but they are entangled and some distance apart. You got 1 and I got 1.
If I measure my the state of my particle it's wavefunction will collapse into, let's say state a, and the wavefunction of your partile will collapse into state b.
The same thing will happen, if you measure your particle.
Now when you do a mesurement to determine the state of your particle, how would you know that it was my measurement and not yours, that collapsed the wave function of both particles? - Ergo you will not be able to tell if I am actually communicating with you or not.

Spooky action at distance is usually a misunderstood concept. The particle spins do not collapse until they are observed, so you can't specify the information of the other particle when you measure it, you can only find out what it was.
