They're cool man, and people concentrate on the fail too much they really used some imagination based on their limited scientific understanding at the time. Portraying the ichthyosaurs in a seal-like manner may have been artistic license though, just for presentation's sake.

The mammal sculptures are pretty good too.

FWIW reconstructions have always been pretty retarded. The chinese fossil flood since 2000 shows that pretty much all of the 20th century reconstruction is just as laughable as the victorian stuff.
