Are any of you in yet? What's it like?
Post source of pic related and I'll tell.

FUCKING
QUANTUM
COMPUTER
5
QUBITS
PUBLICLY
AVAILABLE
WHY IS NO ONE TALKING ABOUT THIS
>>8051454
Every scientist I know is a pedophile, so you can't really argue anything here.
>>8051464
THREE QUBITS IS EQUIVALENT TO AN 8 BIT FLOATING POINT COUNTER
[eqn] FIVE [/eqn]

[eqn] DAMN [/eqn]
[eqn] QUBITS??? [/eqn]
THAT'S THIRTY TWO CONVENTIONAL PORCUPINE SHITTING BITS RIGHT THERE

>Are any of you in yet?
Yes. I'm using it as a piratebox.
>What's it like?
Slow as fuck.
Will this get me in?
>>8052207
SEND IT FAGGOT
>>8051444
that's bullshit.
I don't believe it.

>pointlesspost
>five qubits
Any chance you guys got 995 more laying around somewhere so that I can do something that's actually interesting?
>>8052207
add in a sentence about singularity for safe measure.
Gotta give it a go
>>8053762
Oh please do
Think I should?
>>8053762
Hey I actually study high energy plasmas.
Do you?
>>8051444
But can it run Crysis ?
>>8053820
Well, it could be used in conjunction with a classical computer to calculate positions accurately, since 5 qubits can hold the same number of possible states as thirty two classical bits, it can be used in floating point calculations.
However, that would really only take a minimal amount of stress off the processor, and the processor doesn't even do most of the work when it comes to cryengine, as the physics calculations on any decently powerful CPU won't even run it at half its potential.
>>8053829
I'm a Bond fan
>>8053847
You want to use it to implement a quantum search on that database, not store it.
i assume "5 quibit quantum computer" is like saying "32 bit computer" right? or does this shit have literally 5 quibits.
>>8053867
It is really five qubits.
Same state capacity as 32 classical bits, but different applications
>>8053867
The later. Entangling qubits in a controlled manner is a bitch.
>>8053815
recently got offered a position to join an undisclosed team working towards developing fusion. will most likely be doing plasma diagnostics, then working on blanket design in the future.
>>8051444
Considering that a desktop computer can easily simulate around 20 qubits... am I missing something?
>>8051452
Can confirm

>Same state capacity as 32 classical bits
Both 5 bits and 5 qubits are 32 states, the difference is that in the quantum version you can work with superpositions of the states.
>>8051444
before I click on the link, may I ask what if this quantum computer would consume assloads of bandwidth?
>>8054111
Who cares faggot, only shithole countries have bandcaps.
>>8054003
how do you go from plasma physics to quilting
>>8054637
sometimes you just have to get in touch with your more artistic side
So How Do I Crack RSA ?
Anyone tried using it to brute force a traveling salesman?
I mean, it's obviously not super powerful but I bet in its current state it could still do a small TSP relatively quickly in comparison to a classical.
so what? D wave systems (TM) have 2000 quit computers
>>8056921
That no one can prove is actually a quantum computer. Furthermore, even if D-Wave's machine is actually a quantum computer, quantum annealer's/adiabatic quantum computation are incomplete computational forms. I cannot, for example, run Shor's algorithm on a D-Wave machine no matter what, but I can run it on the IBM 5 qubit machine.

succ my quantum dick OP
>>8056856
use shor's algorithm to factor the big product of 2 primes, then calculate the totient, then use EEA to find the inverse of the power, and then raise the encrypted message to that power mod N
>>8057235
Rude
>>8058170
Damn the crazy thing is he actually has to do it
>>8053820
holy fuck this meme is old
but will it blend
>>8051464
Idk, maybe someone should post a thread on /sci/ about it
