All-nighter cramming or sleep?
Does sleep even matter bros?
I'm curious about this as well. Does anyone have final exam cramming tips? I have an operating systems exam tomorrow.
>he actually needs to study
Cram as much as you can before sleeping, but do sleep. If you stay up all night you most likely won't retain anything long enough to write it down.

How many hours of sleep do I need to retain information?

From personal experience I'd say at least 6 hours. But any sleep is still better than none.

The greatest advice I can give for finals is probably too late to be applied now.
But basically, two or three weeks before finals, you want to really fuck up your sleep schedule. I suggest you get melatonin since it will make it way easier. You want to be waking up at 2-3am, and going to sleep around 4-5pm.
This way, you can wake up, cram for like, six hours before your 9am exam, then go to sleep right afterwards.
It might not be your style, which I can respect, but it worked fucking wonders for me.
Also, get melatonin anyway. It will make sleep great again.
If you have less than 24 hours until an exam and you don't know what to do, make notecards for definitions, theorems, proofs, methods, etc and study them all day. Sleep well, at least 8 hours, and then do notecards until the exam. With so little time left you probably won't be able to work out problems on each subject of the test so it's better to know the methods of solving all of them.

It eliminates the whole "forgetting your whole cram session when you sleep" bullshit, and you won't even feel tired going into your exam either.
Pray for me bros
and is awesome even only in terms of studying - yout get roughly 5-10 hours of uninterrupted learning when your mind is the brightest
