Nothing is nothing, which is to say there isn't anything that IS nothing because you cannot make any accurate description about something that does not exist.
>>
>>8036449
>nothing
>no - thing
the lack of a thing
>>
>>8036456
If nothing doesn't exist, then how can anything move? Shouldn't it be just one solid block?
>>
>>8036449
how much space your mom has for another cock in her mouth right now
>>
>>8036459
Something can go from one part of space to another part of space, but that something isn't nothing and neither is the space it moves through.
>>
>>8036459

you can move in water
>>
>>8036463
Does space exist in space? Where/within what does it exist?

Can space and other objects occupy the same space at the same time?
>>
>>8036469
Only because of the space/nothingness between the water particles.

There is only the traditional idea of nothing - a total vacuum of data, but it ends there. There are always a set of rules determining material behavior of a given space, this means that given space itself has an inherent state of presence, which means it has spacetime potential. Then there is absolute nothing wherein, there are no features and there are no observable qualities, as it stands though in our universe there is nothing that can equate to absolute nothing.
>>
nothing is the space between thing
>>
>>8036475
Yeah and the majority of matter is empty space
>>
>>8036517
Space itself is a thing.

The absence of something. I know this sounds a bit stupid, but it's the most accurate answer to your question.
>>
>>8036449
a word for a thought
>>
>>8036449
It's supposed to mean something but it's a word that lacks physical reference and thus is completely fictional.
>>
>>8036530
if space isn't nothing, then is nothing in itself the absence of space? what would the absence of space be? where is the edge of existence? what properties does it hold? is there a void beyond the black void that goes beyond black? is there a fuzzy logic that can be applied to existence? i'm scared guys.
>>
>>8037685
nothing is the absence of anything
>>
>>8037692
but can something retain an "is" property if it has the absence of all that "is"? i know that's philosophy shit, but what i mean is how is the only property that something has is that it has no properties? or rather, its absent of any property? since that's a property in of itself, does it become a paradox? the idea of nothingness conflicts with me in this sense.
>>
>>8037698
Well I like to think of it like this: White is blank. White is nothing. This text is called text. Without text we would have "nothing". It is something, nothing is something. We can reference it so it is.

its like trying to think of time before the big bang

personal incredulity is a fallacy

i can think of nothingness

i start with nothing and continue

i guess i have godlike intelligence then

Nothing is nothing, a complete lack of stuff in general, the reason people have such a hard time explaining this is because the brain is not made to handle a lack of infomation. One example of this is when people deprived there senses the brain makes infomation up like sounds and tastes that arent there.

Imagine outer space, somewhere between 2 galaxies far away from anything, there will be some small bit of hydrogen atoms and shit still there, so imagine you remove all of those as well, completely empty space with nothing in it.

Now take the space away too and you have nothing.

nothing is a concept to describe the absence of a particular thing, or all things, in a given space

>Spacetime potential
read: potential to be metered in some fashion, even if only by classical dimensional classifications (i.e. 1D, 2D, 3D), in the absence of even space no classifications can then be applied other than absolute nothing. It must be -1D.

>>8036449

Often times we have to negate dimensions/units in an equation. However, there is still a numerical value (even if you negated everything), and it's not like those dimensions go anywhere, right? Or alternatively, if you divide by zero or multiply by zero, there is still dimension?

Philosophically speaking, nothing can only be a human concept that doesn't exist in reality at all.

The concept of nothing does not allow for "something" to come out of it. Thus the fact that we even exist, leads us to infer that "something" is the base nature of reality.

Oh and, since someone's going to go all "-> /pol" about the philosophy reference: Just don't. If you were even thinking about it, then I suggest you first educate yourself on the basics of the relationship that science and philosophy have.
