How is this even a problem. A number describes an amount, a magnitude. If you honestly can't comprehend numbers the best thing you can do it sit in a corner and count until you understand.

Oh, sure, there are tons of those books. I don't know if you need a book as much as you need drilling though. That's how most people get use to it.
I'm curious about what's giving you trouble. I'm sure someone's sat you down at a table with a bunch of coins, counted off ten coins, and then divided them into two piles to show that ten divided by two produces groups of five. Is it the process of long division perhaps?

Well, when I was in elementary school it just seems like everyone kinda understood everything immediately. I often found (and still find) that I have problems with word problems. Also, I approach math with the idea that it is very complex, and that there is an underlying, "deeper" meaning behind all the math that most people understand but that I don't get. Sometimes I wonder if I'm retarded.

I'm just like this, that's why i feel like i'm never going to pass first year uni because i always fail maths and physics exams, integrals are just too much for me, every body in my class seems to understand everything that the teacher writes on the board immediatly, but most times i struggle with the very first line because integrals isn't something that i can make work very fast in my mind like 1+1=2

They don't. I was in prealgebra class before I started to get it on any fundamental level, high school before I was as proficient with it as I was with multiplication.

Math is like a language. It can say something as complex or as simple as you want. The rudimentary math that you need as a non-STEM major is pretty simple. You won't get it over night (kinda took the species well over a thousand years to get to this point,) but you'll get it if you approach it calmly, and with confidence.
Math's like a saucy latina chick. She'll smack you for getting too fresh or lazy, but goddamn does she make good enchiladas.

Nope. It says pretty much exactly what it's meant to say. 3+5= 8. 3, with 5, makes 8. Concepts might become more advanced than that, depending on what you want to do, but there is nothing you'll be given on a math exam that hasn't been rigorously defined for you.

I've actually got some words of encouragement that are kinda uncharacteristic of this particular person, if I can find it (the dense lesbian doesn't categorize his videos). No one of import faults you or thinks you're stupid for having trouble with this. But you "can" do it. I promise you.
