I have terrible discipline.
Tomorrow I want to try and do 8 hours of solid work, just because I don't think I have every done that before.
Tips on how to avoid procrastination/boredom?
How about you do four solid hours of work today and four tomorrow
>Tomorrow
Why not today? Answer: because that's not a realistic goal. Make a more modest plan that you will actually do, then gradually scale up.

Because its 9pm today. Today I got about 4 hours of work done already, and did a 1.5 hour practice paper as well.
And althought it might be unrealistic to try and do this every day, I just want to see if I can do it for one day.
I think its well doable.
When I have to work for many hours in a row I go to a public library, your actions are limited there so working is pretty much all you can do.

Setting yourself a ridiculous goal like 8 hours of studying when you can't even do 2 is just silly. Start small and build up a tolerance over time.
I nearly always remind myself of the following two things before studying. 1) It's an amazing opportunity. Throughout nearly the entire history of human civilization, education was for a small privileged group. Even today there are kids working in some back water for nothing that would do anything for an education. 2) You get to look inside the minds of the greatest men in human history.
This always puts things into perspective, for me at least. Find something similar for yourself.

>"My current record is 6 hours, but that was a one-off all-nighter to meet a tough deadline."
amateur, I worked for 16 hour straight 2 times from 3pm to 7am already to meet a deadline

Go on the Erdos diet.
Wake up in the morning, take a bunch of speed, and do math all day. Crash two or three days later, rinse and repeat.
