About a week ago some troll decided to link my old proof regarding fractionisation of three-thirds, here is an update of that proof, based upon the comments I've got.

Seem Legit.
But no one cares
>>
So, Isn't this a science threwd?
>>
>>7942690
You fucking retard. Not even any point in explaining how wrong you are. You obviously don't even have a high school level of proficiency in math, yet you are such a degenerate you actually believe what you just posted. Unbelievable.
>>
>>7942743
Ehh... I have studied At lunds university and calling me a retard only makes me suspect that you hav'nt studied any higher than high school

>The reason that the zero appears after the nine is that while I multiplied 0.(9) with ten, what I haven’t done is increased the number of 9s that are repeating in infinite amount of times, which the original proof does. Which also means that a free space is created where the final 9 occurs, which is a nothing, a very tiny piece of nothing.

Literally kill yourself

Supring how my first point is proven correct
>>
>>7942690
>uses soft as fuck terminology like 'tiny piece of nothing'
>No sign of mathematic notation other than basic arithmethic

So you are just in 5th grade and you are already trying to become a mathematician? Well, I can't hate you if you are just 11. Back when I was in high school I tried to write a proof for the infinity of perfect numbers, with the idea that if I published that then I would be able to skip the rest of high school and university because I would get a PhD immediately.

Unfortunately I never finished the proof because I hit a dead end, so now I am in my bachelors in pure mathematics.

So op just delete that blog post and then go graduate high school.
>>
>>7942777
Have you even read digital manupalation proof?
It uses only basic arethemic and algebra
>>
>>7942690
>Making a whole blog just for the 0.999... troll

thats commitment right there
>>
>>7942690
You messed up in the first line of the proof. 9 repeating doesn't end by definition, so when you say multiplying by 10 would add a 0 onto the end you are treating (9) like something that ends. Please review the definition of a repeating number.
>>
>>7942690
Why is it every time somebody is wrong they claim "Ivory tower! Academic elites are only looking to keep the rest of us down!" as if academics aren't just nerds who want to understand math better.
>>
>where the final 9 occurs
>final 9
>infinity
>final

I thought even small children can grasp the definition of infinity. It's endless. End-less. It's in the name.
I was wrong.
>>
>>7942784
When you carefully explain exactly what you mean by "9.(9)0" then you will realize why your proof is nonsense.
>>
i really hope you're trolling OP

again, In the simplest way to explain this, your proof depends on considering the infinite list of 9s in .(9) as a finite list so you can append things to the end of the list. We explained this last time. You cannot append things to the end of an infinite list. There is no end.

>>

I already explained it. Stop being a nigger
>>
>>7942690
Your proof doesn't make sense here at all.

The biggest down fall is here:

> x = 3/3 = 0.(9)

Also your university/college should have encouraged you to use some sort of Mathematical Typesetting like Latex. Because your proof looks like shit.

Another point is that you should avoid referencing from Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not considered a credible source.

> Note that this 0 is a very real number and due to the definitions used here is the very last decimal that can be created.

What definitions? You need to be more specific.
>>
>>7942921

comma instead of decimal

if you aren't from europe then you're literally poor, not just meme poor
>>
>>7942690

Fine... lets assume you can add your zero after infinite amount of nines, like that would be possible. Similarly like you can add zeroes after 0.9999990000000... repeat as many zeroes as you want it wont change the actual value.

What you do here, is not how decimals work, this is not how any of this works...
10x -x = 10*3/3 -3/3 = 9.(9)0 – 0.(9)
8.(“18″)”10” – 0.(9) = 8.(9)1

9.(9)0 - 0.(9) would become 9.00...
You can check this with your very own calculator-computer by inputting following:
9.9990 - 0.999
..and press =-symbol and be amazed. You can double-check with values:
9.9990 - 0.99
, so that I'm not trying to fool you, mr honorary doctor.

Which app?
>>
>>7943002
This a million times over.
>>
>>7943002
>>7942690
Just to make sure you understand this too..
when you have infinitely repeating decimals, like 0.999... and you add zero to the end. After that it is not infinitely repeating anymore, because you break the infinity by adding the zero. You change it's value against mathematical rules.

What is the proper way to denote a repeating decimal when you can't use an overstroke?
>>
>>7943930
An infinite series sum is the most rigourous, and would quickly clear up dumbass issues like OPs
>>
>>7943721
Why wouldn't you? I'm not the one who berated it for using " ," in lieu of "."
>>
0.(9)=sum of 0.9*(0.1)^n from 0 to infinity
Sum of a*r^n from 0 to infinity = a/(1-r)
0.9/(1-.1)=0.9/0.9=1
Where's the error in my logic?
>>
your "proof" is absolute shit, fuck off

that speaks really bad about lunds, not good about you.

cantor has nothing to do with this. 0.9..90 is meaningless

Stopped reading after 15 lines. To be perfectly honest, it's complete bullshit. You're not on to anything and if you ever want to prove something, you're going to have to git rigorous.
