Did any of you struggle with retard level maths only to do better

Well, I "failed" out of Algebra 2 my freshman year of high school (got a C- so they made me switch to a lower class) and haven't gotten lower than an A- in a math class since then (currently a sophomore math major), so I'm pretty sure that was the kick in the ass I needed to get my shit together. I'm of the opinion that near anyone can learn things up to undergrad level math with hard work.

To this day, I can't do arithmatic without a calculator, yet I can remember the equation for kinetic energy and how to use it;

KE = M * V = n1, n1 * n1 = n2, n2 * 0.5 = n3 = KE.

KE is not only the number of newtons an object hits with, but the newtons required to get it up to that speed - by multiplying KE by 100% / Eff% = n1, KE * n1 = Newtons, we can predict what kind of powerplant we need to get our KE.

Pascals convert to Newtons, so by taking tensile strength and multiplying it by the difference between 1m2 and Nm2 (Nm2 being the square meters of the face of the object in question,) you get the force Nm2 can survive.

Once I learned real math like this, I excitedly gave up on AD&D. Some day, I'll convince someone to play a physics simulator RPG with me.

Dropped out of high school. Only finished algebra 1 and geometry. Might not even have full credits in geometry. Khan academy tier understanding of algebra 2 and zero trig. Can barely remember most of it.

SAT in may. College has 85% acceptance rate and is 31st best school in the nation for CE. I can get in undecided and take my prereq courses for 2 years and declare my major at the end of my sophomore year.

It's never too late to give up hope, buddy.
