Beside they see their brain as it is, a lazy shortcut taking blob.

> I'm a psychology major who didn't get into that cool neuroscience lab even though I have a 4.0
Because neuroscience is a pseudoscience.
Why are economists so bad at their job?
Why are psychics so bad at their job?
Why are astrologers so bad at their job?
Why are psychoanalysts so bad at their job?
Why are X* so bad at their job?
>*not a real job

T. Cs major xd

That's because psychology is a social science.

I'm studying to become a cardiothoracic surgeon, so I am not bias in this case. I think you're spouting utter shit, how is it a pseudoscience?

because tulpas
and because they can't take EE approach to problems.
Lets say i want to analyze cellular modem, right? I know it operates at specific clock speed. I know there are some stages with Amps, filters, ADC, de/multiplexers, checking checksums, clock recovery etc.
And i want to know how does it work either by measuring heat dispassion, or by sampling signal (with 2f sample rate) in random points.
This what neuroscientists are currently trying to do, and why at this stage it's a huge waste of money.
Basically same reason, why people obsess over neural networks

If everyone is bad at their job it should be okay to ask why they are bad at it. Maybe op just wants to know why neuroscientists specifically are bad at their job. The other ones being bad is for another time.

how exactly are neuroscientists bad at their jobs?
