If you're all so smart, explain pic related.
>>
It's just a fractal bro. Nature replicating a pattern which also exists in some way on a smaller scale.

If you think the universe is a brain then you're on the wrong board.
>>
one of them is a braincell, other is the universe
there :^)
>>
There's nothing to explain.

Maybe, you're not as smart as you think you are?
>>
that consciousness has ascended to the level of the universe at the human mind
>>
Graphics are similar in their imaging. What, do you think these two things have fundamental commonalities because they look the same?
>>
>>7773289
then what makes you think the universe has no consciousness, smartass, it looks like brain cell.
>>
>>>>7773289

Not OP here. And no, i don't particularly believe the universe is a brain cell.
BUT, there is no reason our universe couldn't be. As we look further and further inwards we only find that the universe grows deeper and deeper inwards, beyond what we thought possible or probable. There is no reason to believe that as we look further and further outwards, and the universe seems to infinity (metaphorically speaking) be expanding the further we look, that our universe couldn't be part of some much larger, greater organism.

Perhaps the universe itself, is an organism? I'm sure from the perspective of a single cell, molecule, atom or quark in the human body other human bodies must seem like a wild idea just as other universes do to us. Let alone an entire world beyond it's universe of the human body and an entire universe beyond the world.

tl;dr Naive
>>
>>7773390

Two things looking similar doesn't guarantee identical functionality
>>
>>7773281
It's a picture of a brain cell and a picture of the known universe. It says so in picture itself even.

Are you retarded or something?

>>
>>7773390

You are the universe's consciousness, currently. It's humans. Until we create machines which can self copy.

you wouldn't show me a picture of a black and a brown dog and imply they look the same.

yet I would agree they both look like a dog, or in this case a complex ternary network.

Yes I do actually believe all matter acts in a ternary fashion. Am I wrong?
>>
how'd they get the camera far enough away from the universe to take that picture?
>>
>>7773541
They didn't.
They installed a mirror there and took a picture of the mirror

Thats what I believe as well. There must be universes inside my cells.. why there sould be a boundary where something can't get smaller?
>>
>>7773399
Although I think your idea is kinda cool and when I'm feeling really poetic about the universe I believe the same, the fact is we don't have no proof of what you're saying being true.
I guess mythology began the same way, a stoned guy making up stories to explain what he couldn't understand (and wouldn't live enough to see it explained scientifically).
>>
>>7773289
But nature is just the product of chemical reactions under very rare and special events, especially here on earth...
It follows kinda its own rules and assuming that fractals exist on such big patterns and on such unlikely connections implies that there is a field of awareness that transcends all realities. A guided process.

Intelligent design?

Honestly I lean a little more to this side of the argument but I still consider myself agnostic. There is no definitive proof one way or another.

Agnostics are absurd for this reason. Religious types are perhaps somewhat less absurd because at least their religious teachings hold some value. Agnosticism has nothing positive to offer anyone.
>>
>>7774912
Wow I'm a clown, replace Agnostic with Atheist each time it appears in that last paragraph.
>>
plasticity is geometric, geometry encompasses motion of chemicals as well as astral bodies and planes at larger scales. Lattice redundant.

In the flowing channels, matter and energy move faster than elsewhere. This can be used to communicate information. Historically, human societies that settled along rivers took advantage of this to spread news.

and many others. It's a shape that occurs naturally in a variety of ways and has inherent utilities, but it doesn't really imply anything else. It's very appealing to see it in the cosmos and wonder if the whole universe is conscious but less appealing to wonder if freeways or spiderwebs are.

i have a very basic understanding of the human brain but i do know it is impulses of energy being sent from point a to point b and could the universe not do the same with some form of energy we dont know? i have no basis fo r my next statement but it is just a thought. what if the reason our universe is expanding at an increasing rate is because it is learning from the life that was created buy pure luck through the slow process of evolution. this could explain why the rate isnt decreasing as it naturally would because organisms are more than the sum of their parts metaphorically speaking

What makes anyone so sure that on a large scale all of the interactions that goes onto the universe doesn't add up to some kind of global consciousness? Especially if you think a complex system eventually develops consciousness.
