Why is pop-sci so cringe?

Because you know better, anon.

Also I feel I need to point out CGP Grey isn't pop-sci. In fact, he hardly ever posts anything about science. For a physics teacher, he sure knows a lot about politics and history.
>>
only one of those is even pop sci, faggot.
the others are political, health, and pop culture.
kill yourself.

Scott Manley mostly just focuses on science-related video games, especially KSP, so I wouldn't go to his channel if you're looking for serious scientific content.

He used a lot of math in that video, yes it is pop sci, but he did show the maths that backed it up

I wouldn't categorize destroying a planet as health.

Nothing in that pic is too terribly cringe as far as popsci goes, but >>7765852 is right. Although /sci/ is mostly 15 year olds, some of us know more about science than the average person, meaning we can smell the bullshit.

The really cringy part is watching plebs take it at face value, or worse, belive that popsci is what science actually is.
>>
>>7765828
CGP Grey is not popsci. Yes, he made a video about the plague but thats all of it. His explanations of different voting systems are quite interesting and good though.
>>

At least the 15 year olds are contained to meme posts, IQ threads, and any religious discussions that are posted. People who actually work in a science-oriented industry or are in school for a science subject are all pretty decent posters.

Sixty symbols, periodic, numberphile and computerphile seem to do it right.

They are definitely pop-sci, but they are on a muxh higher level than most of the other stuff.

What's wrong with wondering what causes side stitches? You got a problem with anatomy OP?
>>
>>7765828
Because they are trying to turn something absolutely uninteresting (science) into something interesting.
>>
Guy is an absolute honky redneck but SmarterEveryDay is a pretty decent channel. You aren't learning quantum physics, but it's a comfy channel with none of the popsci bullshit. It's good for kids, desu.

I believe the last sentence for the most part, but not the first sentence.
