does every virus duplicate itself?

What's with all these virus threads?
Anyway, yes

Kind of the very definition of a virus actually,
>A virus is a small infectious agent that replicates only inside the living cells of other organisms.
Otherwise, you'd just call them, "OP", because they don't reproduce using any method.
Viruses are fucking gay

Why ?
they are asexual

not only duplicate
Pretty much all viruses are incapable of duplicating itself on its own. It requires a host cell that it hi-jacks the cellular machinery from, which it uses to help it reproduce. This is why viruses generally aren't considered "living", because they are unable to reproduce on their own, among other things. Though this idea has been challenged.

Stop saying things you know nothing about.

No, I'm pretty sure the OP isn't reproducing.

they're duplicating

There would be no reason for a virus to exist if it didn't eventually replicate itself, even if the replication happened in a host organism/cell.
Viruses have been around for a long time, and they only exist for a long time by doing the same thing over and over again, efficiently. Viruses that didn't replicate themselves would have gone extinct long, long ago.
I guess you could have a non-replicating virus, but it would have to be immortal, since as soon as it dies, that's it.
