Knowing the mathematics is one thing. It would be different if one vocally communicates it, but the purpose of a paper is such that any one in the world who doesn't have the luxury to have the author narrate it to them can read the paper. This is why we have basic standards to what we expect in a paper, namely that it doesn't look like a three year old wrote it.
