Is there a capacity for intelligence in children? Can a 7-year-old be as intelligent as a grown adult?
>>
Depends on what you mean by intelligence

Well yes, I mean just look at Jacob Barnett.
>>
Maybe a very stupid grown adult.
>>

Not if you're Jacob Barnett. Have you literally published a paper with a leading physicist before age 18?

Depends what "grown adult" are we talking about here? IQ varies in certain groups of people. I highly doubt there are many 7-year-old's with an IQ of 100+.

I'm not a neurologist so I can't really speak much on brain development. However, I know for a fact it's possible for a young person (aged between 12 and 15) to be very intelligent.

In some ways, yes, but their brains are literally not fully formed at that point. So a 12 year old is never going to be able to think like an adult.

I feel like this isn't actually a question and more of a "yeah look at this smart autistic kid" thread

The jealousy is palpable from this brainlet.

I will never understand /sci/'s fascination with me.
>>
can you fit 27 years of experience into 7 years?
Probably not.

Go to bed Jacob, no one cares.

Honestly it's probably possible but very rare. Most common precocious children are usually ones who are like 13 or 14 and as intelligent as the average adult.

I'm aware that Imgur.com will stop allowing adult images since 15th of May. I'm taking actions to backup as much data as possible.
