John Stossel's exposition on climate change showed how hostile the international committee is to those who are skeptical about man being the primary cause of climate change. They keep touting that the science is clear and that there is no debate to be had. If you show any sort out skepticism you are immediately brandished as "unscientific" and "delusional."

I personally think that the issue of whether climate change is happening is manmade is irrelevant. Eliminating CO2 emissions is a pipe dream with no chance of happening in the next 50 years. If climate change is in fact real, I still don't think the consequences of it are as severe as people claim they are.

You think American/European government paid scientists are objective? Given the lefty results of "fighting climate change," (Massive wealth redistribution, more government, more carbon taxes. Christ you're ignorant. There's no significant money or politics to be advanced by evolution or vaccines. The UN IPCC is all about the money and the U.S. politicians give them tremendous support.

Go read up on Lysenkoism. AGW is America's equivalent. www.forbes.com/sites/peterferrara/2013/04/28/the-disgraceful-episode-of-lysenkoism-brings-us-global-warming-theory/

Former U.S. Senator Timothy Wirth (D-CO), then representing the Clinton-Gore administration as U.S undersecretary of state for global issues, addressing the same Rio Climate Summit audience, agreed: “We have got to ride the global warming issue. Even if the theory of global warming is wrong, we will be doing the right thing in terms of economic policy and environmental policy.” (Wirth now heads the U.N. Foundation which lobbies for hundreds of billions of U.S. taxpayer dollars to help underdeveloped countries fight climate change.)

Also speaking at the Rio conference, Deputy Assistant of State Richard Benedick, said: “A global warming treaty [Kyoto] must be implemented even if there is no scientific evidence to back the [enhanced] greenhouse effect.”

In 1988, former Canadian Minister of the Environment, told editors and reporters of the Calgary Herald: “No matter if the science of global warming is all phony…climate change [provides] the greatest opportunity to bring about justice and equality in the world.”

In 1996, former Soviet Union President Mikhail Gorbachev emphasized the importance of using climate alarmism to advance socialist Marxist objectives: “The threat of environmental crisis will be the international disaster key to unlock the New World Order.”

IPCC official Ottmar Edenhofer, speaking in November 2010, advised that: “…one has to free oneself from the illusion that international climate policy is environmental policy. Instead, climate change policy is about how we redistribute de facto the world’s wealth…”

Doctors make basically nothing off of vaccines.

The vast majority of climatologists would not have their jobs if not for global warming alarmism. This would be a minor field most people would never hear of, if it wasn't organized around doom and gloom predictions and declarations that we must all sacrifice and give more power to the government.

>Yes they would. Of course they would. Biology is the study of living things. They'd still be just as interesting and important to study if God created them.
That's like saying climatologists would still have a job if they didn't have AGW to explain the climate. Obviously it's bullshit. Scientists don't get paid to study things, they get paid to make the conclusions their employers want. This is how the world works.

>Doctors make basically nothing off of vaccines.
Are you retarded? Of course they do. Anyway, I'm not just talking about vaccines, I'm talking about all medicine and medical treatment. It's all just made up so doctors, pharmaceutical companies and insurance companies can make money. Anyone who makes money by saying something is lying!

>The vast majority of climatologists would not have their jobs if not for global warming alarmism. This would be a minor field most people would never hear of, if it wasn't organized around doom and gloom predictions and declarations that we must all sacrifice and give more power to the government.
Exactly, I completely agree. No one cares about the climate unless it's warming. Now you just have to open up your eyes to all the other frauds.
>>
>>7716405
people say "there's no evidence to support climate change" and then when we give them evidence they say we're lying. I wish we we're lying. But we can do tests using inferential statistics to find out whether or not we are lying, and in my own tests I concluded that I was 98.73% certain there was a linear relationship between the accumulation of CO2 and the pattern of global and regional temperature growth over the last century. the last 800 centuries actually.

People are skeptical because it is never presented to the public in a scientific way. It is presented to the public as "HOLY SHIT THE ICE CAPS ARE GOING TO MELT AND FLOOD ALL THE POPULATION CENTERS AND THE OCEAN CURRENTS ARE GOING TO STOP AND ALL THE NUTRIENTS ARE GOING TO STOP FLOWING AND ALL THE FISH ARE GOING TO DIE AND HUMANITY IS DOOMED IN 5 YEARS oh wait maybe 10 years oh wait maybe 20 oh wait maybe 30 oh wait maybe 50 actually we have no idea what is going to happen beyond "shit is going to get warmer" but still accept these higher taxes ;^)"
>>
there's almost no chance burning everything that ever existed on a global scale has no impact on the earth and the climate. But thinking reducing CO2 output will help in such a massively non-linear system is stupid. Reducing CO2 so much it would matter would definitely be mankind's greatest task ever (developing africa, china and the rest of the world is a joke compared to that) .

BUT i think it's the right way to go. I very much like to enjoy my free energy in 20 years and see Saudi Arabia burning to desert dust again because nobody's buying their oil.

No they didn't. The Earth was known to be round since the ancient world.

The theory is unfalsifiable.

Prove me wrong by providing a plausible falsifiability criterion. It must be testable, and clearly differentiate from normal weather/climate. And because AGW is about anthropogenic CO2, the falsifiability criterion must involve a causal connection to anthropogenic CO2.

So this hits a nerve in their little brains. Fuck fuck sake, even Sandniggers know climate change is real and these people kill each other over a stupid book. The problem is America. The issue is that it's hard to compete with trillions of gallons of free energy sitting in the ground. Nobody wants to pay 2x the price for power.

Scientist are mostly cowards who lack courage. They are often academic cowards who will agree the status quo to preserve their careers.

The money is in climate change research that backs up the agenda of the government and ultimately those who profit from carbon swaps.

There have been a number of times in the past when the PPM of carbon in the Earth atmosphere was vastly greater than it is today... That was not human cause.

Because even if it was factually incorrect that global warming is anthropogenic, it would still be politically correct. Politicians and media outlets do a hell of a lot more to ostracize skeptics than do climate scientists. It's science driven by politics, not policy decisions informed by science.

Why don't you stop and try thinking about what you're reading for two seconds instead of leaping to parrot pseudo rebuttals? Because you just agreed with me.

>There have been a number of times in the past when the PPM of carbon in the Earth atmosphere was vastly greater than it is today...

You mean the Great Extinction Events? Yeah, let's have another one of those.

>Why is it in other fields of science scepticism and inquiry are respected and encouraged, but on the topic of climate are derided and assaulted as crazy/evil?
It's not. Actual skepticism and inquiry is the foundation of climate science, and strongly encouraged.
However: a bunch of morons have decided to re-label conspiracy theorisim as "skepticism". Almost all of the people who call themselves "skeptics" actually aren't remotely skeptical, and just parrot stale arguments because they can't distinguish real skepticism from contraianism.

Look at them moronic conspiracy theorists...

A scientific consensus said the continents didn't move. Conspiracy theorist said otherwise.
A scientific consensus said that light move through the ether. A conspiracy theorist said otherwise.
A scientific consensus said the phlogiston theory of fire was correct. Only conspiracy theorists doubted it.
A scientific consensus said that space and time were fixed. Wacky conspiracy theorist said otherwise.
A scientific consensus said that atoms were the smallest piece of matter. Nutjob conspiracy theorists said otherwise.

In the old Soviet Union, anyone who didn't believe in communism was crazy and locked up in a psycho ward. Anyone who didn't believe in Lysenkoism had a similar fate. Funny how anyone who doesn't believe in the unfalsifiable dogma of Climate Change is also a nutter.

The more things change...

I think you're horribly confused about what a conspiracy theorist is.

Why was CO2 ×10 times higher in past eras when there were ice ages?

Can you explain that?

Wildlife, different air composition, different atmosphere.

And the carbon sinks worked. There was no oceanic pollution, no deforestation, no artificially induced crops, no runaway pollution. There was a cycle and it worked.

Volcanic eruptions? Oh yes. The ash and sulphur aerosols released into the atmosphere cooled the landmass affected, allowing more carbon to be absorbed into the ocean.

Cold water absorbs more carbon, warm water is a poor absorber in comparison.

conspiracy theorist is a buzzword, you should ignore everyone who uses it

that 97% number is bogus. its 97% of studies, whos purpose was to determine the primary cause of climate change, and came to a conclusion. It excludes:

1. studies that concluded there is no climate change (beyond what is expected as normal)
2. studies that were inconclusive on climate change
3. studies that set out to determine the cause but were inconclusive

and you all just believed it because the president said it

and then theres faggots who will believe this post fully because it agrees with their viewpoint

You all disgust me.

That 97% is of the 33% that believe science can currently answer that question...........

You realize the current state of our atmosphere having as much oxygen as it does it due to pollution by microorganisms right ? If anything you're undermining how fragile a planets structure can be
>>
>I don't believe 7 Billion people with their industries can make a difference on a planet-wide scale!
>Let's just continue throwing every toxic waste into the sea! Just burn some crude oil for teh lulz! Everyone who disagrees with me is a leftist-hippie-gubamint-shill!!

Guys, I don't wanna sound like a hippie, but maaaayyyybe it's not a bad idea to reduce the stuff we blow into the atmosphere, and maybe don't just bury garbage in the earth. Common snse should tell you that, but I guess "I ain' gunna pay no more taxes!!!!!!!!!!!!" sounds better in some peoples heads.

Listen

>Water vapor and CO2 (water vapor being the exponentially better one) are both huge 'greenhouse gases'
>Extreme scientific support in that claim via infrared and absorption spectroscopy
>Although Earth naturally produces those, we do as well - thus we do contribute
>How much we don't know totally yet, but does it really matter lmfao? If Earth is going to shit we should slow it down as much as possible
