Is science today able to explain happiness?
>>7714560
Yes, it correlates negatively with intelligence.
Science is not about explaining, it's about explaining away.

But I'm very happy and I am also very intelligent so I think you are wrong, perhaps? Because I am both intelligent and happy, that is, so it is not a negative correlation but a happy one.

I'm usually pretty apathetic.
Something about seeing snow out my window makes me smile though.
Makes me feel PAthetic.

My terrible wit makes me smile too, kek
I was just looking at a study that found a significant positive correlarion between overall long term happiness and the amount of gray matter in the right precuneus.

However I'm not well versed on the subject so it wouldn't surprise me if this is only a small effect in the grand scale of things.

What the fuck is a happy correlation?
>>7715862
People who call themselves intelligent only think so because they are lost in themselves.
Not really.

>>7714560
happiness has many forms OP all are true
As long as psychology is not considered a science, no.
>>7717714
behaviors reinforce themselves simply by activating the same pathway
happiness exist so you don't die
happiness isn't even agreed upon person to person and i'd argue it REALLY doesn't exist at all
satisfaction? purveyance-elation? gratitude? excitement? pleasure? yes
happiness? no, i mean describe a time when you were happy - was it temporal? i bet 99% of the time you'd say it wasn't - you were simply happy and then unhappy later. What i mean is that it isn't a state but rather how you vaguely describe a whole bunch of states' in retrospect.
if you apathetic you just need to find things you enjoy the process of doing, and do them
Fuck everything else

I find happiness in learning new experiences/challenges, good and bad. Increasing my tools and resources to survive this life, is happiness in itself.
